GUIDED IMAGERY: “I trust that my Creativity will create a world of security and love for me.”

The Chi and The Hara

“Creativity is our birthright. Every human life contains its seeds and is constantly manifesting it, whether we’re building a sand castle, preparing Sunday dinner, painting a canvas, walking through the woods, or programming a computer.

The creative process… points us toward our essential nature, which is a reflection of the boundless creativity of the universe.”

Taken from “The Zen of Creativity: Cultivating Your Artistic Life” by John Daido Loori   “If our life does not have chi, it does not have power and we are disconnected from the universe.” J.D. Loori

Each moment in our lives is new.

With each breath, we are renewed.

We retap the well-spring of life which flows in and out of and all around us.

There are three vital elements to Creating.

 1. The Muse or Inspiration

2. The Hara– The place within that is still and grounded. The hara is located about three inches below the naval. Focusing upon the Hara can help calm the mind and create sense of balance and well-being.

3. Chi– The Life force, the Energy within ourselves and the subject.

Meditation: The Chi and the Hara

Sit or lie in a quiet place. Make sure your spine is elongated and the top of your head is parallel with the ceiling.

Gently close your eyes.

Breathe in- count 1.

Breathe out- count 2.

Breathe in- count 3.

Breathe out- count 4.

Focus upon your Hara. (Located three inches below the navel.)

Gently place your hand upon it.

Imagine a gentle smoky white light flows in and out of it. This is the Chi.

A slow deep breath in.

A calming breath out.

Each breath draws the Light up a little further.

The white light makes its way up your spine.

Filling you with the Universal Energy of the Chi.

A slow deep breath in.

A calming breath out.

The Light exits through your Crown chakra. As it does, the Chi becomes a Radiant Smoky Violet color.

The smoky light billows down toward the Hara.

With your next breath, draw the Violet Chi in through the Hara. The circle is complete.

You are now re-connected with the world around you and with the Universe.

Slowly open your eyes, the world around you appears new and refreshed.

Repeat this Affirmation:

I trust that my Creativity will create a world of security and love for me.
